I recently received a pair of Pyle PLD15WD sub's for christmas. I am now trying to determine the box size (or volume) needed to really make these subs hit. I drive a '78 buick electra so size shouldnt be a problem. I've tried using a few box calcs but the item manual doesnt have all the specs i need... I've emailed pyle with no response as yet, and never seem to have time to call them. The amp I have to push these subs is the PLAD3300D.... any help would be greatly appreciated....

Well I would say do not believe the power handling specs. There is no way that each of those can handle 1600 watts rms...sorry but those woofers are bottom of the barrel in quality.

BUT, since you didn't pay for them you can make them sound pretty decent and get pretty loud in the right box...but the box cannot be a prefab box...it must be a custom enlcosure

I'd say get a good 1000-1500 watt rms amp that is 1 ohm stable.

How much do you wanna spend??

I wouldn't recommend that amp...its cheap crap

at 1 ohm that amp you are using will blow after a while of listening to music at high volumes, it might say it can be 1-ohm stable but its a cheap amp. i wouldnt run them at 1ohm even if they wont be getting the same amount of power. save up until you can get a better amp before blowing that one up lol.
