Hey guys I am looking into putting a complete system into my 06 acura rsx type s. I usually like to get all my components from a single company cause if i need help with settings and stuff they are more helpful. I am looking at a five channel amp to run a component set up front with high quality coaxials for the side panels in the back. then a sub in the trunk. who is better overall kicker or hifoncs from maxxsonics. thanx so much

For SQ, neither of them are really up to par. For a PURE SQ system, look no further than Zapco. Now, while Zapco is expensive, a cheaper (but no less capable) alternative could be the new full-range Class D amplifiers from Eclipse. A 5 channel is available from them that will put BOTH of those in the dirt.
However, you DID specify two brand names, and of those two, I would DEFINITELY go for the Kicker, if forced to choose from those two only.

It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

Yeah I was leaning towards kicker as well. I think I am gonna get a 6.5 inch kicker component set up front  with a set of  kicker 6.5 coaxials in the back and the zx700.5 kicker amp to run it along with a woofer. You think this will sound way better than the bose system in this 06 rsx type s?

Where's the love? I guess its Kicker all the way, even though I got Hifonics in my car. For the difference in the price, Hifonics makes a good amp, but of the two Kicker is stronger. Also, like haemphyst stated above, if money doesn't matter there are more amps that are better than either of those two.
