Hey can anyone who has actually listened to the bose upgrade stereo in a 06 rsx type s give me an honest opinion about the overall sound quality. I really need an honest answer so don't just say "all factory systems suck" even if it is true most of the time. If this stereo is no good please tell me why. Thank you as always

It is OK. But in comparison to an aftermarket amplified system it would suck!

It depends from which point of vew yu're looking at. When Bose introduced their car audio to Nissan Maxima in '89, it was the best at that time. Now all you have to do is listen and compare, and you will soon realize that it's not. I also own an Acura TL and big fan of Acura, but the premium audio system in TL does not stand a chance to what I have in my truck. That is of course if you can hear, no offence.

Thank you for the response. I was figuring it was ok compared to other factory systems in its price range but I was sure it would suck compared to aftermarket.

There is a reason that Bose is called "Bloze" in high-end home audio...

A little information, received from my insider informant from Harman. Bose is the ONLY company in America that turns 80% of their NET ANNUAL SALES back into advertising - that is LITERALLY, not a figurative number! (and maybe 80% is not the ACTUAL number, but it's close, and the real number is a VAST majority of their annual income) There is no research in the company, contrary to popular opinion/belief. "Dr." Amar Bose is not in ANY WAY a Dr. of anything other than manipulating the general public into believing that what they are listening to is high-end. He's/they're (a) snake-oil salesman/men! The car gear, while MARGINALLY better in performance than the home gear, by virtue of being DESIGNED for a specific car, will still NEVER compare to even an entry level, decently tuned and properly installed "better than OEM" system. As opined my most people above, there is NO WAY that any OEM Bose system could compare with a true audiophile afternarket system, and the aftermarket will likely sound better, for LESS MONEY (especially once you consider the cost of the "upgrade", plus all associated finance charges for 48 to 72 months!).

It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."
