I would like to run a set of JL audio 13w6v2's powered by a PG tantrum 1200.1 amp  for a good balance of SQ and SPL.  140db should be attainable with a proper box. I want a T class amp because it plays full range at 80 % efficiency and can still be influenced by the higher octaves and harmonics. I've heard that a proper front stage is needed with these subs, so I'm wondering if I would be OK just running a set of  Alpine SPX-177R components upfront and a set of Alpine SPX-17MB 6.5 in the back using a 6x9 to 6.5 conversion plate.  I've heard that people often don't go with anything in the rear deck, but I plan on shutting off the subs from time to time so I need something that provides decent mid bass in the rear deck. Head unit choise is the Alpine IVA-d310.  All this is going into a 2002 dodge intrepid.  Do I need to go with better speakers and amps in the cabin?  If so, please recommend a cabin setup under $1000 for the front components, rear speakers, and the amps to power it all.

i would spend all the money on a sweet set of components and amp for the front.
that is an awesome woofer!
Are you going to do the install yourself?
you could get a set of JL ZR650CS and a 300/2 for right around 1000 before tax at retail. You wont be let down
Or you could even do a JL A2150

are you just trying to 'get by' or do you really want to do it up
