This may be a stupid question but I thought I'd still ask.

Can you wire 2 amps into one set of subs? I have 2 different amps(one Sony and one Blaupunkt) that together would make 700W RMS and 2 dual 4 ohm voice coil Calarion subs, can I wire both amps into these subs?

ive never heard of this but i want to know If i can use both amps before I sell one.

you could wire one sub to one amp, and the other sub to the other amp. that is assuming that each amp could handle the impedance of each sub. that being said, its not a good idea. one amp will have more power than the other amp and you could have cancellation issues. you are better off just picking one amp and wiring them both to that amp.

But most likely it won't sound good...I'd sell both amps and get one to suit the woofers and the impedance load

List the equipment you are asking about. The forum doesn't know whether these two amps are similar, different types or what.

If they are both class D mono amps, go ahead and put a parallel-wired sub onto each one.
If they are different types of amps, pick the one that is appropriate for your needs and use it only. See https://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/woofer_configurations.asp?Q=2&I=42
And, if they are both two-channel amps, series-wire each sub and bridge one sub per amp.

Thanks for the help. sorry I didn't include all the information.

There both 2 channel amps, and both are stable at 4ohm bridged. So with my dual 4ohm voice coil subs I wouldn't be able to use both amps because of the ohm load.

I think I'll stick with the 400W and call it good.
