another request for a wiring diagram. it seems the newer vehicles are hard to find.

I have an 05 GMC savana that I took the RADIO out of. I tried a wiring harness, but it didn't seem to work.

the colors in the dash are:

2 brown
3 orange
black
white
green
red
light blue
dark blue.

If it fit, but you couldn't get the unit to come on, that's because there's no switched wire behind the radio anymore. If you use the proper data retention harness, it will supply you with one. Otherwise, you will have to run your own accessory lead. The thick brown wire at the ignition harness is accessory. If you do this, use a fuse at your connection point.
