hello, i bought the mtx 9500 DVC sub with the mtx 7801 amplifier and i started noticing that the sub was actually playin music. it kind of distorted the sound also. and i didnt remember music comin out of my old subs, i was just wondering if that was a problem. maybe i wired sumthin wrong. but i would apreciate it if sumone just told me if anything was wrong at all. if not then thanks..

Your crossover is set improperly. Make sure its set to low pass and set to the correct level, generally under 100hz

Yeah, if you're a DIY then you should probably read the sticky about setting gains.. and then also read up on frequencies it sounds like.
