im down to this. just purchased 2 kicker sl715 2 ohm. vc wired in series to 4 ohm, then subs wired parrelle back to 2 ohm. im assuming that rms for setup would be 1000x2= 2000 would the kicker zx2500.1 be to much? or could i connect 2 kicker zx1000.1 together ? im looking to get the most out of the subs as possiable ------------- well that was fun

The 2500.1 will be perfect for those subs...but you won't get much power if your electrical system can't supply the current that amps needs.
What have you done to upgrade your electrical system???
What vehicle and alternator size do you have??

none yet, just a stock 300m. what upgrades will i need to do before hooking up the system?

Upgrade your big three....I'd suggest using 0 gauge
Upgrade your battery...install it...check how low your voltage drops during bass heavy music...if it drops below 12 volts than you need a new high output alternator

i purchased the amp, looking at the optima yellow top battery. the amp manual says that i need another battery 12" from amp. what kind of battery should that be? ------------- well that was fun

also i researched the alternator and it puts out 130a. the amp manual says at least 140a. would that 10amp differance cause problems?

OK. First off, use a RED TOP, not a yellow top, UNLESS you are planning on doing a lot of parking lot listening with the engine off. In that case, AND THAT CASE ONLY, use a yellow or a blue top, with an isolator. The red tops are FAR better batteries for car audio, once the charging system is up to the task.
The batteries must be within about 6 months in age of each other, and must be the same in CCA, and reserve time - ideally you would use two identical batteries. If you do not use identical batteries, isolate them from one another.
Your alternator is 130A. Your amp needs 140A. You asked "Would 10A make that much of a difference?" Are you planning on disconnecting EVERY OTHER ACCESSORY in your car, and dedicating that entire alternator to running your amplifier? The engine ignition and controls system (20A), the AC (20 to 30A depending on where the cabin fan is set), the power seats (up to 20A, each), the power windows (7 to 10A), the headlights (10 to 20A), clearance lights (12 to 18A), windshield wipers (12A)... You get the idea. Now, reconsider immediately an HO alternator, and I recommend the biggest one you can get under the hood, AT LEAST 200A.
