Has anybody had experience with the Alpine Navigation add on unit?

I was looking at the Pioneer Avic N3 unit, and loved it's (non-boring) interface, along with it's (again non-boring) tones. But, the Alpine navigation unit costs significantly more.

So am I paying more for a better navigation unit, or will the Pioneer do fine? What's your experience?

I work at Best Buy and we sell both. I bought a Garmin.

Hahaha... Was the garmin bought while looking at the alpine and pioneer? Or did you not consider them?
