I have a 2000 Ford Escort ZX2 with the premium sound package. I bought all of the things needed to install a Sony Xplod CD player in my car. The Cd player number is CDX-GT50W. I bought the wire harness for my car. It has the 12 Volt Ignition wire which is red. The 12 Volt Batt/Memory which is yellow. The Ground which is black. I know I have these hooked up correctly. What I'm confused about and need help with are the other wires. There is a orange wire that is Illumination. I believe I have this hooked up to the illumination of the CD player correctly. But there are two other orage wires. One has a white stripe which is the positive dimmer and one has a black stripe which is the negative dimmer. I don't know where these go to the CD Player because there are no dimmer wires coming from the CD Player. What do I do with those two wires. And then there is a blue wire is is Power Antenna. There is a Power Antenna from the CD Player but I have no power antenna. Do I need to hook these up? Now for what really confuses me. Ther eis a blue wire with a white stripe on the wire harness. It says it's the Amp Turn-On. What do I do with that. There are two left over wires on the CD Player harness. One is the antenna. What do I do with that? The other is the Amp Rem wire. I need that wire to go to my amp to power my subs, correct? And if so, then what am I supopsed to do with the Amp Turn-On wire from the wire harness?

Oh and I forgot to mention that with the speaker harness, there is an amp ground. What do I do with that too?

Well first of all if you have the premium sound system from ford then you have a factory amplifier under the drivers seat.  Your best bet is to bypass the amp completely cause you will have a relatively loud turn on pop when the system turns on.  If your not concerned with the pop then you can integrate with the amp.  If it were me i would not connect any of the illumination wires.  I have seen many cars with problems with other lighting in the vehicle due to aftermarket radio illumination wires.  So what i would do is just cap or tape off any orange wires both from the cars harness and from the aftermarkets harness.  You have no power antenna so due the same with with the solid blue power antenna wire on both harnesses.  Now you should be left with a blue with white stripe amp turn on wire on both harnesses.  Connect these along with the remote turn on for your sub amp (all three wires are conncted togeter).  That way that wire will turn on your factory amp and your sub amp.  Now connect the black with white stripe (amp ground) with the black ground wire for the radio.(again just connect all three wires together.  Thats it you should be good to go.  Dont know if youv gotten to this point yet but just as a heads up that dash kit sucks and rarly fits right withought some minor modification.
