I have just tried to replace my factory tweeters (because they were broken) with some little speakers but the problem i have is that they're too loud ove the door speakers. is there anyway i can reduce the volume to the tweeters without adjusting the head unit settings? Cheers

Yes, you need to pad the tweeters by adding resisters to them.  First you need to determine how much padding they require (how much more loud they are than the woofer) which may require that you visit a good shop with an SPL meter, and then you can use a calculator like THIS to determine what size resisters to add. Click the link and scroll down to the calculator called "L-Pad."

Also if you list the make/models of your tweeters and of your woofers, maybe I can give you a good guess if you cannot visit a shop and have your system metered.
