I just installed an aftermarket amp and speakers to my head unit and was wondering why there is a static noise when I turn the volume all the way down. Is it because of the stock head unit? I tried using a ground loop isolator and that didn't work. Please let me know what this problem is. I was thinking of getting a rejection noise filter but I don't know if this will work. Someone please help me with my problem.

it's probably 1) The headunit, or 2) Amp wiring and such. It'll be easier to identify your problem if you can give us more info:

Make of you amp, speakers, and car. What kind of wires you used, and where they run (Did you run the RCA's and amp power together?).

What exactly doe sthe sound sound like? Is it a high-pitched whine? Or a low, radio static type? Is it engine affected? (does it go away with engine off, or change with RPM's?).

How did you get the signal form the stock HU? is it through a low-level convertor, or does it have preoput's of some type?

Fill us in and we'll try to help!

I'm not sure but my friend hooked it up for me and he used the RCA converter for the stock Toyota 4 Runner head unit. It is the static noise you hear from a radio. So I dunno whast the exact problem. Let me know if you need anymore info, if so i'll ask my friend tomorrow. Thanks for the help.

the make of the amp, and wher ethe wires were run could be a help. Is the static loud, or very quiet? Does it go away when music is playing?
