I was looking at sum amps on ebay and i came across this Lanzar Vibe 3100D, rated at 3000 watts. Are these amps actually putting out 3000 watts? or are they way over rated? Heres the link.

ummm... Where do I start? Let's just say "overrated" is putting it nicely. Lanzar USED to be only moderately good, but now they are classed with Audiobahn AFAIAC.

It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

haemphyst, you said Lanzar amps are now classed with Audiobahn AFAIAC. What is this? Im assuming its better than "moderately good". I have a Lanzar amp -Vibe241 (1000watts max, yeah right!)- and ill say that it is alright. The only way I could get decent power from it is when I hooked it up in tri-mode. I had one KickerComp 10 (4Ohm) hooked to each side in stereo then a RF P1 12 (4Ohm) bridged. -Someone told me to use inductors on each speaker b/c the amp is designed for tri-mode with 2 4Ohm upper-frequency speakers on stereo then a 4Ohm woofer bridged. Is this true? I had the amp on full range b/c of my 80Hz LPF in my HU. Now I have it bridged on the 10's (parallel= 2Ohms). Though this is not recommended (and I wouldn't recommend it), it works! The amp gets warm but not unpleasantly hot. I've only popped the internal fuses once (no low-impedance protection) only b/c of a bass CD. Is this at all okay as long as the amp doesn't get too hot?

Um...Lanzar and Audiobahn are not Moderately good...they are crap. I've had a 600 watt max lanzar amp...claimed like 320 watts rms...with a 20 AMP FUSE!!!!! yeah right.

Both of them are crappy amp manufacturers...waste of money. That power you are getting jmelton is most likely a dirty clipped signal

aznboi3644; suprizingly enough, very little clipping- if any. The signal it gets is from an Alpine CDA-9830. The interconnects are MonsterXLN, which have a wire -I guess that just runs between the two sides- that is grounded at the HU side. Now, im not trying to defend Lanzars' suck-a** products, but since i've had my Vibe241 hooked-up 2Ohm bridged (Don't try this at home!) to 2 KickerComp 10's, i've been very impressed at it's performance and ability to keep...working.
