this is a very big system for me its a 96 two door tahoe im gettin the alt juiced up, 2 batt. one yellow top one duralast 1000 cold crankin amps, 2 ga power wire, efx pmbc200 isolator, 2 2fared power caps, im also upgrading all my wires under the hood to 2 ga, 2 merlin 200.2 (2000 rms at 1.5ohms i love this amp), 6 kicker comp cvr 15" (1 amp on 3 subs 2.67ohms runs perfect),all in a fiberglass box ill post up pics later i have the frame built. my questions are ....................................should i use the isolator or just run them parallel if so what size fuse or  circuit breaker should i use in between the batts. if i use the isolator im puttin the duralast in front jelly in the rear, now  im guessn i dont need the caps if i got both batts plus the alt juiced up right?plus where should i get a ground for the amps if the amps are more than 24" away from ne good ground should i weld a piece of metal from the frame up just to get a good ground?..........................

im using the truck just to show off and to beat down the block with no power issues. its a 2 door tahoe gota do it big (but right)

You have done nothing to address the SOURCE OF ALL ELECTRICAL POWER IN A CAR! The ALTERNATOR. Do not buy anything else, battery- or cap-wise, until you address your alternator.

It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

Lose the caps altogether. Run identical batteries in parallel. Upgrade to 0 gauge power wire. Do the Big 3 or Big 4.

its not that its hard i usually mount my sub amps where ever looks good and run my ground to a good location even if it is 24" thanx for the input tho...........so run two jellies in parallel straight back to the amps no caps no isolator what size breaker 200 amp will do?

There is steel everywhere in your truck that you can ground to...unless the amps are 2 feet above the floor than grounding shorter than that shouldn't be a problem

Make sure to read the sticky topics at the top of this forum that are going to apply to your system. They are the what is a proper ground and how to upgrade the big 3.

ive been around for a while .... but, what is a jelly?

you can ground to any sheet metal, not just where there is a pre-existing bolt.
