Hi, Im new to the forum. Long-time reader, first-time poster. I want to install a peripheral iPod2Car in a 2001 F-150 supercrew w/ CD Changer in the back. I understand the iPod2Car installs in place of the CD Changer, however, my friend wants to keep his CD Changer. I was wondering if this is possible. I read up on relays, and made a sketch, I was wondering if this would work (rough sketch, may need to add/subtract relays):

If not, has anyone gotten something like this to work? I was thinking that flipping the switch would make the head unit read the cd changer harness, and at rest it would just read the iPod harness. Also, would something like this be safe? Thanks for any help guys, I hope this doesn't get me flamed, haha.

You can not wire the coils of the relays in series as you have in your drawing, you must wire them in parallel. Other than that, what you have will switch the 10 leads you have drawn between the two.

Thanks man. I appreciate your prompt response. I will wire them parallel then. My first attempt at making a circuit like this with relays. I just wanted to double check with the experts of 12volt. Once again, Thanks
