I have a 1999 ford explorer and i just bought 2 orion 15" H2 subs with a 5000D orion amp. Do I need a new altinater or a battery?

If am correct that amp is rated @ 2500 rms @ 1ohm. 99 explorer, 0 gauge run for power, upgrade the big 3 and you'll probably still need a h.o. alterantor. As for the the battery, have it load tested if its weak replace if not its your call. I suggest reading the sticky posts in this forum, there is some great info on upgrading the big 3 and proper grounding.
