i just bought a new ride (1995aurora)and am doing some reserch before i start my install
i will be building my box to kicker specs (https://www.kicker.com/06/tech-support/manuals/manuals/02SL5TechManualV2_0.pdf)
the 6 sqft 15" slot port
ran off a jl 500/1
unless i hear diffrent to a point that i want to change
my main ? at this time is what diffrence does it make if my sub is mounted normal as oppsed to magnet side out as i have seen in many installs
i belive it adds to the looks but was worried about the sound suffering.
i have had the sub for a year runiing the same setup in a 1997 exploder and love the combo but my box will not fit in the trunk unless i build it in the trunk.whitch i will be doing .
i was also considering porting the box towards the front of the car (i know )because the rear seats do not fold down but there is 14"x8" hole where the armrest folds down in the rear seat.and was going port it trough there.
i was also considering when makeing my box incorprateing room to add 2 10 subs and was woindering if 2 10'' would even add that much to the bass whith the 15 in such a large ported box
i am just looking for pros and cons of these ideas so please let me know all your ideas .

don't mix and match different sub sizes...adding two more won't do crap.
Stick with either CRX style box or sub back and port back
Makes no difference if mounted normal or inverted
how does a ford explorer have a trunk???
And how do you build a 6 square feet box with a 15 inch port??
ford explorer does not have a trunk
and it is a 15'' sub box not a 15'' port on it
but thanks for replying and look foward to anymore ideas any may have
Well I know an Explorer has no trunk because i have one....and I have a bad*** box design for one 15 inch woofer I used to run (JL 15W4) until a tinsel lead broke.
It was LLLLOOUUDDD....but took up the WHOLE cargo area.
Only way to have subs back and port foward is if you really know a lot have box design and acoustic theories and such...if you just build a box with subs back and port fowards...there are gonna be some major problems
