A customer dropped a 98 winstar van off for a radio install and the factory plug was cut off. well i got the wiring diagram and got it all hooked up. The problem is now the dash lights dont work. There is a plug that goes on the back of the factory radio that has only 2 wires, would this have anything to do with the dash lights and if so how would i hook up since it has been hardwired. Thanks for any help

if i recall correctly the dimmer switch on that year windstar is just to the left of the radio, make sure that didn't get disconnected when doing the install... also, if the factory plug got cut off, did you check to make sure the dash lights fuse didn't get blown in the process? (don't remember if that fuse is under the hood or under the dash, but check both locations...
thats all i can think of that may have happened...

Fruity Pebbles.
i did check the fuses and everything is good...you are right about the dimmer switch and its location but it is not disconnected...there is 2 wires that are in its own harness that connect to the back of the factory radio that i cant connect now because of the hard wire to the new radio...is what is crazy is that when i switch the headlight switch on, the dash lights blink...help please
