iwas wondering if it would be possible to make a sub box out of solid lexan. if it can be done would there be any problems with sq?

Yes it is fine.  No, if done correctly it works just as well as any standard materials.  In fact there is a company on the web who sells them made from some sort of acrylic.  The reason you don't see them very often is they are VERY expensive, 10X or higher the cost of MDF just for materials, and then you need the proper cutting tools and assembly skills... I just looked up a typical price.  For 1/2" thick clear Lexan, a 4X5 foot sheet is $615 plus shipping.
