Greetings,

I am replacing the HU and adding an amp for a box.

- Does anybody know the pinout for the factory HU harness?

- Is there an integration plug available?

- Where is the factory amp(s) located?

- Any surprises I might run into, i.e. RDS type radio, OnStar, or sum kind of Audi DooHickey?

All help would be appreaciated, Thanks

That vehicle should work fine with a standard VW harness metra part # 70-1784.

The factory amp should be in the trunk behind the driver side panel but I am not 100% sure. However..you can go high level into it (integrate)so that is an option if you want to save time and labor

No doohickys to worry about.  If the deck has RDS that is just a feature for radio statio ID on the head unit screen ..will not effect anything.

I don't think anyone but GM uses onstar...well at least not in 1999...is there an onstar button in the dash of that car????  If not don't worry about it..if so get back and I'll make some calls.
