Anyone know WHEN a wiring harness for a 2003 Silverado will be available??  Trying to put my Alpine head unit in the new truck, since the factory radio stinks!  Nobody in the Hoston area has them yet (at least nobody I have talked to...lol)

Thanks

What stinks about the factory radio?  Delco radios are among the best.  It'd take a lot to get me to downgrade to aftermarket, unless the factory unit had no CD player.

The wiring harness houldn't be any different from a harness for a 2000+ Cavalier, or a newer Saturn harness.  If you use a Saturn harness, the wire colors will be incorrect, but your truck still uses standard GM wire colors, so it'll be easy to figure out.

Also, there is no switched power at the radio, as the on/off gets controlled by GM's databus.  Remove the driver's underdash, located (and test) the large brown wire behind the fuse box; this is accessory power.  Attach a 10-amp fuse, and run a length of wire up to the radio.
