does anybody have any good recommendations for a good cheap amp, eg under 200 that will do a nice job of powering 2 kicker comp vr dvc 15" subs, remember 500 watts rms each.

So you are basically wanting a 1000 watt RMS amp for under 200 bucks. Unless you know somebody that know's somebody that has a guy, good luck. Save up some cash and get a decent brand name amp. If your lucky you can find good refurbished or used amps on ebay, but those are few and far between for $200. Sorry

Just because they are rated at 500 watts rms each doesn't mean it takes 500 watts for them to reach full excursion...depends on box.

But a Kenwood KAC-9102D or KAC-9152D will power those fine and can be had for under 200 bucks
