Do you need an amp wiht component speakers with passive crossovers? Im kind of a newb sorry.
By the way im new.
You do need passive crossovers with components. Didn't they come with them? You can run components off a radio, but and external amp will most likely give them the power they need to perform fully. What kind of components do you have? What radio? Do you have an external amp for them or where you just asking?

Thanks i was jsut asking im thinking of getting some and yes they do come wiht the crossovers but after that i wont have money for an amp but i will get a amp for them down the road.
They will work with your exsisting radio, as long as they don't have less than a 4Ohm impedance- they shouldn't.

What type of components are you planning on getting? You might run into a situation where your components will be so underpowered that it will sound worse with them than when you started. I suggest you save a little and get all the right stuff at once.

That's my opinion. Take it, leave it, or correct me.
Yeah, you definately don't want to run components that require, say, 100wrms to a HU.

make and model of head unit? is it stock? make and model of components? power rating on them?
i have on may occasions run components off of the head unit without an amp and they sound pretty good- they just may not have the loudness that you might be expecting. they WILL sound better with a good amp. be sure to correctly wire up the passive crossovers, or you will ruin them.
