mounting two 12" (sealed box) in my trunk, also mounting 2 6X9's in the deck behind the back seat. wondering if air presure from the subs will interfere with the performance of the 6X9's?   should they be in boxes? car is a 91 sunbird, box is a sealed 2.5 cubic foot.

If there is problem you can go and buy some 6x9 speaker baffles for $ 10 from a stereo shop.

I would probably buy the baffles and put them in. I have seen the added pressure from the subs help in killing deck lid speakers. cheap insurance, imo.

100% definitely use something. The boxes for the 6x9's are going to be hard to mount under the rear deck leaving enough room for your sub box. The better idea on all fronts are XTC foam speaker baffles. They will provide a 100% air tight seal around the speaker to keep the output of the subs from forcing the smaller 6x9" cones to move (and as such producing unwanted noises).
