I could use some help locating a shallow dual voice coil 4ohm sub in either a 10 or 12 inch and I am not having to much luck.
Let me tell you first what I am doing.
I am doing a old school setup using all older equipment and the only thing I am going to use new is speakers’

I want to use my old Orion 425hcca 1st gen and would like to drop it down to .5 ohms but I am limited in space about 4 inches in depth max before I hit a gas tank.

There is one brand I have found so-far is some company called POWER ACOUSTIK?? They have a STW-10 and 12 and I think it looks like hell but I don’t think they will handle what the Orion will want to give it!
Any help would be great.

I bought one Elemental Designs SQ10 for my dad's truck. For the price you cannot beat this subs quality and sound. Four of these on that amp in a sealed box with .3 cu ft per driver would rock pretty good

Pioneer has an affordable one at about 179.99 or Sony has just produced one with a 2 5/8 depth for about 129.99. Try those out. I am partial to sony for sound and price!

I've sold a few of the pio's, and was less than thrilled with them. They are a last resort in my opinion. I dislike sony in general, and unfortunately the name still has some bearing on unsuspecting customers.

Power Acoustik falls in the latter category, more of a flea market type brand.

Although I have no experience with eD, they have a decent reputation, and may be worth investigating, along with the likes of the JL.

I agree totally..........

They are a solution to a problem......lack of space.

Nope, don't want one. All I need is my xbox and halo 2 (until halo 3 comes and I need an Xbox 360).

But seriously, sony has not been anything near what it was when the Mobile ES line first debuted. Anything post xplod, is terrible. Ever wonder why JVC and Sony decks share the same plug?

I respect you opinion. I would love to compete the ES stuff; but it's hard to find a full car's worth in great condition. I'm trying to just see how clean I can get the stuff I can get. Mabye Sony needs to get of spending all their money on the 80" LCD's and get interested in their Mobile stuff again. Something with TA would be nice!!!!
