i used this kit to install a alpine iva-d310 and beside maybe super glue i can't seem to keep it in the dash board. it seems very cheaply made and janky as hell. I actually had to turn it over and put the pocket up top and it stays in the dash better... anyone have any installer insiders for me...is the 5804 better.. or maybe the custom kit... ?

The pocket is supposed to go on the top. Did you secure it with the screw hole tabs?

Did you use the support tabs that come with the kit? This kit holds rock solid if it's installed correctly. posted_image

i used the screw whole tabs on the back... but the snap in pieces broke for some reason... maybe i am a little to rough, off road style?? not sure... i am thinking about trying to get a 5800 kit and make it work

Lock the cage to the dash. Put in the kit; then the cage, and lock it down. Won't budge.
