If I am wanting to use the amplifiers crossover settings instead of the head units do I set DEFEAT to on or off on head unit?

If it is an alpine, this will defeat or disable any settings on the head unit, like x-overs and any eq settings.

some have 'amplifier defeat' which turns off the internal HU amp

It is an Alpine. So if I set it to off it will turn all hu crossovers off correct?Or is it the other way around ,setting it to the on position will disable hu crossovers?

If the defeat is "on" you will bypass any settings on the deck. So if you plan on using the settings on the deck leave defeat off.

Just set defeat to on position on deck so I can use amp crossover and now interior door speakers sound like crap.To much bass going through them.Unless I use the crossover on deck and set bass to -7 the interiors sound horrible.I guess I just need to install my 4 channel and new diamond speakers throughout to get the sound im looking for.
