I'm trying to replace the factory speakers with mb quarts. It has the factory harmon kardon system and when i hook up the components through the mbquart crossover i only get the midbass to work and the tweeter is not even playing highs and very low and muffled. Do i need to bypass the harmon cardon crossover somehow? Is there a bypass kit? I would prefer not to get a seperate 4 channel amp to power the quarts but if thats the only answer i guess ill have to do that. HELP somebody

Inside of the door there should be two seperate wires , Tweet and Mid .. Chances are both wires are crossovered at the amp which is located on the Trunk roof with the factory subs, Anywho try using the tweeter at a low volume with bass completely down without the MB Quart Crossover just test it could be a bad pair of tweeters or crossovers. and this wil help you and if still has a muffled sound then you have to dig abit deeper in to the system try getting a little 2 channel amp for the fronts and just High level it off the Radio outputs to the amp whch is located under your rear seat in aharness to your left.

by the way is it a Hardtop or Convertiable??!

cheers.
