i recently purchased 2 1252w 12 inch infinity's. online and at the store they said that the subs were 1000 watt peak and 300 RMS but on the box that it came in it said the peak watts were 1200 which is true? more importantly what size/brand amp would u prefer to get the best out of these subs. i currently have them in a sealed enclosure pushed by a 1200 watt motorjoy amp but one channel is burned out so i believe im only getting 300 watts per sub, dont get me wrong to me as a first system it sounds clean, deep and loud but what would be the best amp say around $500 to push these subs to their potention and what do u think of these subs. and what kind of box (sealed, or ported) and mounting depth would give me the deep hard rolling bass that i want.

peak numbers mean nothing and are most of the time overinflated..are are more than likely getting way less than 300 watts per sub

RMS is what you want to look at.

So all you want to look for is an amp that will push between 600-800 watts rms...headroom is good, amp runs cooler and less chance of clipping.

500 dollars is a good amount to play with...what impedance are the subs.

I just bought an Elemental Designs 9.1 amp

 1200 watts - 1 ohm
 900 watts - 2 ohm
 450 watts - 4 ohms

 All at 12.5 volts

on the box it says dual 4-ohm voice coils and on the paper with all the specs it says Nominal Impedance:2 or 8 ohms

a Memphis MCD-1000 or the ED Nine.1 will work flawlessly.

They both have the power to blow those subs easily but just be carefull with the gain and you'll be fine

no worries i got a 4 year warranty, if they were to blow or something happen to them they would either replace or repair it for free. I should go read the warranty though because i wonder if there are certain conditions to it or if they can void it like if u put too powerful an amp to them.
