anyone know how to get 12 volt dc to 19.5 volt dc !! try to hook up a laptop to my car ???

1: A DC adapter for your laptop.
2: A 120v inverter, and plug in.
Those are your choices. Oh, sure, you could BUILD a DC-DC covertor, but it wouldn't be worth it, I guarantee it.

In recent years DC-DC converters have become very affordable, reliable and available. You are barking up the right tree. DC-AC adaptors (cheap ones) pass a nasty modified wave that can potentially kill your laptop.
