I have a 2002 chevy impala and I am looking to upgrade the big three along with my alternator. I would like to know does anyone know of any shops that rebuilds factory alternators to put out more than oem specified amps? Thanks in advance.

I would not do this.
You'll find rebuilt OEM alts have real problems making 14v at idle... essentially rendering the entire idea moot.
If you really want an HO alt, break the bank and buy a quality alt from a very reputable maker such as Stinger. Don't bother with rebuilt ones unless you like burning your money. Deep cycle batteries and what-not are also excellent solutions to look at and far more economical.

i, myself, have been in the same situation, and i purchased 3 rebuilt alternators that i was (for the most part) very happy with. on the first two cars, it was my only choice, because at that time, nobody made anything h.o. for those vehicles.
first one was on a 1999 infinity qx4. it came with a stock 100amp. the company i used (same for all 3), rebuilt it to 180 amps, and shipped it to my door for about 200 bucks. i did lose about 1/3 or 1/2 volt at idle- however, the amperage was much greater. i could sit in the parking lot and pound the radio without it ever dropping below 12.8 volts. whereas before, i had to be careful, and it would drop to 12 and sometimes less. when driving, it was 13.5 or so, with very little fluctuation at full volume.
second was on a dodge ram van. was 120 amp, and they rebuilt it (actually, they rebuild their own-new bearings, brushes, stator, etc. so i still had mine on the shelf as a spare) to 200 amps. at idle, it was not so hot. i would drop to 12 or so volts at idle, by just turning the amps on, with no volume. bring it up even 2-300 rpm and the alternator was probably making the full 200 amps and held solid at 13.8 volts with radio at full volume. i should have probably tried to change the pulley size, but never got around to it. maybe that would have helped.
third was last summer on my 05 gm sierra. i asked them to see how high of a voltage they could make it for me (as i run 2 alt's and this one is dedicated to the stereo). he said it tested out to a little over 280 amps on the bench. when i put it in, no doubt, it is close to that. and the voltage sits at 15.3-4 at idle (amps on, no volume), and soars to 15.8-9 at 1500rpm. wicked happy customer!!!

I have 3 12" punch Hx2 subs being pushed by a quantum audio which puts 1500watts at a 2ohm load and an alpine amp(f450) pushing my highs and mids which puts out 70wats per channel. I have already upgraded to a yellow top optima battery, but I still have headlight dimming when the bass hits and that's why i really wanted to upgrade the big 3 along with an h.o. alternator. Could you give me any links to websites that have the h.o. alternator or local shops any one knows about(im in miami,fl).

it's a company called electromaax- they are based in canada (so u.s. tax duties do apply :( ). i found them on e-bay, and ended up dealing with them directly because they actually made my alternators specifically for me, and then i just paid them through paypal. (actually, on the firstwo purchases i made, they didn't even claim the money until days after i had it in my hands- i was a little nervous sending money out of the country). i can't remember their website, but the phone number i have is: 905-631-8219.
when i first hooked up with them, they were a very small, growing company. they have since bought out a stator, bearing and bushing(?) company, and regrouped them into one. (may have different name, but phone number still works). The person i always spoke with is Rob, and he seemed to know just about everything about alternators. The only thing to forwarn you about is that it took me about 6 weeks to get each one. i don't know if it was because of the makes of vehicles and my personal requests, or if it's just because they build each one as they are ordered by the customer.
