I've just obtained a brand new Audio Art 50HC amplifier and i was wondering if anyone may have some specs on the amplifier.  First off, are there any Gain/Sensitivity Control's on the amplifer or is it based on input voltage, if so whats the max input voltage recommended?  What exactly is the minimun Impediance allowed on the amplifier, is it 1/2 ohm stereo and 1 ohm mono?  what class amp is this, i didn't see any MOSFET's internally so i was wondering, i didn't pull the board completely out so i'm not sure if their there or not? is this amplifier similar to the old PPI amps where the more power you supply the stronger it gets?  finally, anyone know the THD% (total harmonic distortion percentage) on this amplifier? well, i know thats alot of questions but any help would be greatly appreciated, i don't want to install this amp blind folded and i want to know how strong it truly is.

thanks again

PAN

Seems like the rms power is 50w. This amp was used as a 'cheater amp' where you could enter a low power class but burp out impressive power at low impedances (600w @ .5ohms)

Thats about all i know

25x2@4ohm 50x2@2ohm 100x2@1ohm 200x2@1/2 100x1@4 200x1@2 400x1@1

That amp does double what the ratings are easily.   Very very nice old school amp. max input voltage is 5volts

very very similar to the memphis HC50, the orion Hcca225, and the kicker XS50

thank you very much! Seems i may have found a treasure. Now this amplifier doesn't have any external controls, like a Gain control.  does anyone know if the gain control is inside the amplifier where the board is or does it not have the ability to adjust sensitivity?

If I remember right there are vertually no adjustments.    Back in the day a line driver truly was your friend.

I know when we ran ours with a 2 volt input it was just fine.     I would try it with what you have and then maybe consider something from there.
