What does the small "black box" connected to the yellow power wire for an AVIC-D1/D2 do? The harness I have doesn't have this part and the installation manual shows it should.

It is inline with the battery 12+ yellow wire and has a ground wire coming out of it?????

Its just a filter for the 12v and the ground to pass though to eliminate surges and other unwanted signals in the power
