Well today i went to install a head unit in a 2005 Honda Civic.

Once i unplugged the factory radio and then plug in the aftermarket radio I noticed there was no 12V, acc or ground on the factory harness. I had to ground the deck seperate form the factory harness and run 2 extra wires for ACC and 12V.

On top of this the dome light wouldn't work after, RPM guage isnt functioning and the keyless isnt working.

I checked all the fuses inside the car and they are all good.

Has anyone else come across anything like this before?

I've done lots of the 2005 Civic's and have not had any problems. It's just a basic installation. Have you tried replacing the HU again to see if the problems go away ?

I tried the stock HU back in and it would not power up either.

Has me completely confused. There is a sub and amp installed with a LOC that someone else had done but thats it.

I am taking another look at the customers vehicle tomorrow to see whats going on with it.

Check all the fuses in the car and under the hood.

This is going to sound stupid, but check the battery. When the battery reaches a certain level in Civics, for some reason they start to do really weird stuff, for example, my headlights would flash intermittently with the wipers.
