My old alternater failed on me yesterday and that alternator was 105 amps. I think it really faled because of old age not because of my stereo.????

My amp only has 2x 30 amp fuses so its only drawing about 60 amps max..

Now should I get a HO alternator or should I just buy another 105 amp alternater. Would a 140 amp alternator work?

A 140 would certainly be a safer bet. When a manufacturer provides an alternator, it is already loaded to about 80% of it's capacity, and that's a COLD rating. By the time it heats up, you are at or near 100% of it's capability.

Yes, you need an HO alternator.

It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

Okay my warrant on my car bought me a new alternator but it's only 125 amps...errrrgh..
I 'll just deal with it in the meanwhile and upgrade my big 3 while installing the alternator..
