I have an Alpine M-301 Monoblock (350w RMS) amp driving two Alpine 12inch Type-R DVC (2ohms).

What is the best way to connect these up, series or parallel? Because i currently have them in Parallel and they r not performing to their full potential.

Need Help.

Your amp is 2-ohm stable.  Click on the "Woofer Wiring" link on the left column of this web site, enter the information about your woofers, and select a wiring configuration that is 2-ohms or higher.  Then set your gain properly.

Jus one more thing regarding The Alpine Monoblock. It says it will push out at 12volts 250w into 2ohms and only 150w into 4ohms. but at 14.4 volts 350w into 2 ohms and 175w into 4 ohms but our batteries only run at 12volts. so if i run the wiring any higher than 2 ohms wont i be underpowering the two subs? as they are 300w rms each. so which wiring option shud i use? Im very new to this and these Cape Town guys cant seem to help me. thanx.

Your battery only powers your audio system when the car's engine is off.  When the engine is running, the power comes from the alternator.  Most vehicle alternators operate at 13.5 volts or higher.

Don't worry about under-powering your subs, just wire for 2-ohms or higher and set the gain properly according to your head unit output levels and you will be fine.  If it is not enough bass output for you, the answer is a different amp and/or subs.

If I were you and I had those subs and that one amp...I'd run one sub with one coil wired to the amp and have a big low tuned ported box

But the way DYohn said will work perfectly fine

So in other words i should run the 8Ohm selection? because thats the only config i can choose now with the amp and subs i have. (2x 2Ohm DVC subs)

and how about wiring just one voice coil because i would the get more power as i am running one sub into 2ohms which gives me 350w rms of power. would that b okay? just using one sub instead of two?

Power isn't as important as radiating area.

I'd stick with the pair.

Lotsa people have car stereos in Cape Town?

I am sure Cape Town rocks, but the only people "pushing 175dbs" are those pushing around a sign that reads 175db.

Use both woofers wired for 2-ohms and you'll get the best performance out of your system.

Try impossible, unless maybe you are hearing the output from a Saturn V rocket engine at takeoff from a few inches away.  And then you'd only hear it for a few seconds until the bones in your inner ear shattered and left you deaf.

I still don't believe it...if you can get up some pics of the car and some screen shots of the vehicle actually doing these numbers on the termlab than what you say means nothing.

People here aren't just gonna believe anything unless you have proof
