I have a 1997 gmc sierra diesel. Is it ok to run my amp (200w) off the secondary battery, on the top post (the side posts are used for vehicle connections)? I am currently running this way with no noticed ill effects.Thank you in advance for your consideration. Also, sorry if this is a repeat question, I searched the forum but didn't find the answer.

Either post can be used for any connection - they are electrically the same. As long as you have the mechanical connection, you can go either place.

It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

Thank you for the rapid response. After reading over my quesion again, I want to clarify, that I really need to know if it is ok for me to run the amp power from the diesel's 2nd battery, not the primary one. Thank you again.

It is fine running from either battery. No need to change anything at all. Make sure that you have a fuse on that power line no further than 18" from the battery.

Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.
