i have a 2002 taurus with a sirius starmate replay and the fm relay module to connect directly to the antenna of the car. i have it tuned to 91.9 and have a bad hum with the reving of the car. I can not figure out what is going on. I used to have it miunted with the suction cup above the rearview mirror on the windshild. Now i bought a bracketron mount for the sirius and have it mounted next to the factory radio. I havce the wires coming out from the radio bezel, nothing i see is crushd or being grounded.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

you have a bad ground. Check your location of the ground. Make sure it is a nice clean ground down to bare metal. Also check the resistence with a DMM. If it is higher than 1 ohm, then you have a bad ground, thus try a different location.

It could also be the box of the fm mod is touching ground as well.

i changed the power and ground from ignition harness power and dkp ground to the radio harness ground and power. Still does it.

Any more ideas? Noise filter maybe?

You can try using a ground loop isolator which will probably "solve" the problem

they sell a noise filter for the power, just grab the right amperage that you need and wire it in.

If you got some of the xm ferrites laying around just throw one of them on the fm mod cable on the back of the unit.  They surprisingly work well.
