upgrading audio, 03 sebring convertible

Okay gentlemen....

I am inquiring to find out the best possible solution to upgrade my vehicles audio system..I just bought 03 Chrysler Sebring Convertible GTC. Any quick general suggestion would be wonderful. My big problem would be bass. With limited trunk space, I was wondering has anyone had any real luck with any 6x9 subs in the rear side panels. If not, what, if any ideas for space saving for bass. Or would midbass 6x9's be ideal? So confused. 6x9 subs are hard to find but there are some. Just dont want to overspend. I am not looking for show quality..Just some descent quality sound(at least better than stock). Please any ideas would be appreciated.

Uhh. 

You can't put a trunk sub in a convertable anyway.. that never seems to work.

Uhh.  Since you seem primarly concerned with bass response, I'd get a slim-mount 8" woofer and mount one under one or both seats.

Something like this.

Then I'd get a 4 or 6 channel amplifer and run coaxials from the from channels in the front doors or wherever they are in a Sebring, then run the subs off the rear channels of the amplifer.

Quick and easy and all ur trunk space.

when you say mount under the seat, are you talking front seats or rear seat. hmmmm I know there is no room under front seats so i would think you are talking rear. I haven't looked to see what kind of room is under that seat. I will check that out tonight.

was also thinking, how about a 6.5 driver for rear panels instead of 6x9's..

I mean I've never even been in a Sebring but you have room under your front seats.  I'm talking about a SLIM 8" woofer.  The box would have to be built carefully.. it would be *small*... like 4" tall, then 14" on either side.  Then slid under the seat.

not that much room under front seats....its like siting on the ground...

Huh.

I dunno man.  I'd still look into a dedicated subwoofer if you want any sort of appreciable bass-response.

Perhaps a 6" woofer?

Well after considerable thought....
I have bought a Kenwood head unit with USB input.
lots of mp3's to play :P

I was thinking I need bigger volume levels because I ride with top down all the time. But I want quality at the higher volumes. Car currently equiped with stock speakers. 3" mids in dash, 6x9 driver in door, and 6x9 full range in rear panel.

All I want to know is what is some not so expensive speakers that will have quality. was thinking of getting some 6 1/4 components for the door. Is that a good idea or bad? I am still a little confused.

I found some extra space under the convertible top storage bay. Its not alot but it does give me some room for a sub in the trunk. will just have to get a box custom fitted and maybe ported.

Also was thinking a 4 channel amp for the regular and components then another amp for the sub.

I guess my question is....
What speakers are the most affordable per quality. I would say reasonable price would be around 100 a pair. Or is that too cheap for quality.

The flat out best sounding coaxials I've ever heard are Boston Acoustics S-series coaxials.  $100 per pair is a perfectly acceptable number to work with.

okay i was wondering if going 6.5 boston pro components would make any difference.
if so, does anyone know where i can find custom kick panels for my vehicle.
