Hi all,
I'm replacing the factory Bose system in my 2000 Maxima and I could use some advice/opinions here..
So far, I have:
Head unit: Kenwood KDC-MP325 (RCA pre-outs for SW, the rest are speaker level)
SW Amp: Kenwood KAC-8103D
Front spkrs: Infinity Reference 6020CS
My original intention was to use the amp to power a 10" driver in a sealed enclosure in the trunk, and get a separate amp for the fronts (I'm leaving the rear door speakers disconnected). The sales guy told me this amp was bridgeable, but I can't find any evidence of this in the manual or anywhere else.
So, my question is -
Should I keep the amp and wire it independently to a 10" dual voice coil driver if i can't bridge it, and get a separate amp for the front speakers..
or
Return the mono amp, and get one multi-channel stereo amp to power everything?
Do you think this amp is overkill for a single 10" sub? I'm looking more for sound quality, not insanely powerful bass - just clean, precise, and fairly loud.
I'm looking to spend about $400 more on this including the wiring (doing the labor myself) so if you were in this situation, what would you do? I'll either build the enclosure myself or have a cabinetmaker friend of mine build it once I know which driver I'll be getting.
Any help with this will be greatly appreciated.

That Kenwood amp is a mono amplifier so there is no such thing as "bridging" it. It has one channel, and is stable at 2-ohms. IMO if you want good sound quality and have $400 to spend, don't buy those Infinity coax speakers, upgrade to a set of 2-way components and get a 50-75 WPC stereo amp for them.

I guess I was confused by the fact that there are two sets of output terminals on the amp ( + + - - ) and all the diagrams in the manual all show two speakers connected to each set. Looking closer, I see that the speaker connected to the 2nd (+) and 4th (-) terminals one of the drawings is drawn with a dotted line. I assume that means it's optional, and that the other two terminals will give the full power of the amp to one speaker. The manual is extremely vague, bordering on useless to the uninitiated.
The Infinitys actually are components, but maybe I'll look into something a little better.
