I have an 02 ranger edge that I'm going to be putting an 18" woofer in.   These are the sites I am doing everything from so far.  What do you guys think?

Hmm.

Kenwood head units are okay I guess.  I don't know about that DVD player though, I'd find one on display somewhere and see how that screen actually looks before dropping money on it.

I'd get different coaxials... I really do not care for Kenwood at all in this department.  Much better stuff for the money.

TC Sounds has a good reputation.  If you want to do an 18", I'm sure thats a competent choice.

OnlineCarStereo isn't really a very good seller, and that amplifier is a piece of garbage.

For less money, why don't you consider a real amplifier?

Anyway, running something like an 18" it probably wouldn't matter, but I still would never install a Lanzar or spend actual money on one.

Noooo!!!  Please do not power that beautiful subwoofer off some piece of an amp.  That thing deserves a solid 1000 watts rms at least!!  That's big time power and requires a real amp from a respected brand not some flea market junk(and probably an upgraded electrical system).  That sub is out of stock anyways.  You might want to consider getting something a little cheaper that doesn't require so much power and spending that money on a high quality amplifier to go with it.

As for the speakers you're going to need something pretty loud to match an 18" so you might want to look into buying an amp for your speakers as well.

Do you guys have any suggestions on speakers?  And what about around a 2500 watt RMS amp?  I can't seem to find any.  As far as the sub being out of stock though, I don't mind waiting for it.  I'm not going to be back in the states till september or octoberish.  And what about the amp for the speakers, could I do like the A1200

1. The link to the amplifier doesn't work, not that it matters. If it's a Lanzar, it won't even come CLOSE to doing that woofer justice.

2. How in the HELL are you gonna put that 18 inch woofer in a Ranger?!?

It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

I'm going to be taking the back right jumpseat out, and making my own box for the woofer.  I don't know exactly how I'm going to aim it, probably diagnally up towards the passenger side for looks.  I don't plan on having more than three people in my truck at time anyways lol.  I didn't know that Lanzar was a bad company and thank you guys for letting me know.  I want an amp thats more than a thousand watts though.  I plan on showing it off down in san diego when I get back from iraq.

If you are serious about going with that sub and giving it a real 2500 watts rms you have all sorts of other things to consider.  First you are going to need to upgrade "the big 3" and don't skimp with the power wire (0 AWG for sure).  Next you're going to need a good high output alternator to keep up with current demands(TBD by the amp you get).  You're going to need at least 1 run of 0 AWG power wire (haven't checked the math to see if that's adequate) going to the amp.

Yeah fitting an enclosure for that beast in a Ranger is going to be a task.  I don't know how a 18" right behind the passengers' head aiming towards them is going to sound but they'll probably be deaf pretty quickly anyways.  Either way you'll need some good speakers and an amp to hear your music at all with that setup.  Many many options.  Do some searches and find out some high quality brands with good reputations.

The amp for the speakers should again be of high quality and good reputation and matched to the speakers you choose.  I think you listed a monoblock (1 channel) and you'll want at least a two channel amp for the front speakers and if you upgrade the back as well you might want a 4-channel.  Any questions yet?posted_image

So I will definitely upgrade the big 3 then.  I will also research into the 4-channel amp.  Does the size of the amp need to be bigger to power all four channels?  Or will a 4-channel amp power the sub with 2500 watts rms while powering the four other speakers?

Have you installed a large system like this before?  If you are serious about a 2500 watt amplifier you are looking at something like, say, this one.  I you are dropping the kind of cash a system like this will require, I suggest you get yourself to a professional install shop in your area for assistance.

With the amount of money you are going to spend on your equipment (to do it properly) I would have to agree with DYohn, check with your local audio shop.

I don't really have any plans of limiting my system due to budgeting.  So a  professional would probably be the right choice.  I am sure there are a lot around san diego lol.  I like the amp that you found Dyohn.  I will probably look into that amp, and a second amp for my speakers.  Still doing research on what speakers and amp to do for those.  I am also looking into a better alternator.  I appreciate the help guys.

How do those speakers look?  I am going to be doing a seperate amp for the four speakers.  So I will have a sub amp and a speaker amp.
