i read a previous post from "auex" that the factory ford radio is a din and 7/8". metra claims to have a dash kit that will fit a double din (cant remember the part #) does anyone know if a dash kit will work when installing a double din if i just trim the remaining 1/8" of the dash bezel.
also, the truck has the factory in dash radio/cd changer. do these vehicles have a factory amp (the last fords ive done was an escape, and that had a factory amp, but ive also done an 05' f350 that didnt have a factory amp), if so.... can someone tell me what i can use for either a) an amp bypass harness or b) an adapter to retain the factory amp and use low level for my input from my new head unit.

The dash kit you're looking for is a 99-5805 for the older body style. You will still have to cut the dash a bit though. The new body style uses a 95-5812. As far as the amp thing goes, it depends if its the new body style 150 then there's a factory sub and the harness you'lll want is a 70-5521. If it's the older body style then it shouldn't have a factory amp.
