What kind of vehicle is it and where is the remote wire going to. As long as the remote wire as 12 volts the amp will stay on.

Id definately check out that remote lead wire --- if you have one of those screwdriver like things with a light inside test it with that, when the car is off see if there is power on the remote lead.  If so figure out exactly where you connected it.  Or was it working fine before and it just started happening recently?

Ah well that acually sounds like your amp is messed up.   I broke my MTX amp and all of a sudden the sub would just pound and when I shut the car off it would continue for about 10 seconds after car was off then it would turn off.  Ended up sending that amp off 3 times before they sent me a brand new one after that.

i have a 2008 doge avenger... and the amp is brand new.. i think it probably hooked it up to the wrong wire in the back... how do i find the right wire?? is that wire volt reader thing the only way?

Based on your comments, I suggest you should get your vehicle into an installer's shop as soon as you can.

Is it a factory radio or an aftermarket one?

if you unplug the remote wire and the amp stays on, then you have a bad amp.  It happens sometimes.

Or the remote turn on wire could be wired to a constant 12 volr source which would keep the amp on all the time.
