I just got a 04 civic and the system is pretty weak. I'm gonna replace the stereo with my Alpine I had in my old van but I was wondering what the easiest thing would be if i wanted to replace the Civics stock rear speakers with my Pioneer 6x9's I had in the back of my van. Obviously the existing holes wont fit 6x9 speaker's but is there an easy way to make them fit? Thanks

To do it right the best way is to modify the 6.5" hole for a 6x9". There are adapters to convert the speaker size but for that application modifiying the hole is the best option.

I think the trunk support bars would be in the way.

That is possible it just all depends on placement and magnet size.

Sometimes the best option is to upgrade the 6.5" speakers so you don't have to do any mod even though you have some 6x9's anyway.
