I've personally never had GREAT experiences with any of the cheaper TV tuners available. The best ones I have see are the ones such as the Pioneer GEX-P5700TV, or Alpine TUE-T151, etc. which both must be controlled via their respective companies head units.

I highly doubt that different antennas will make much of a difference, but it may be worth the shot if you are trying to avoid spending the money that the other tuners would require.

I have never had anything I would consider good with pretty much any tv tuner. Think about it. How good do rabbit ears work on a tv in your home? You may be able to find a good diversity antenna but you will still be about the same.
