the question is not so much about installing it, but just tips on how to verify the product i bought off ebay is functioning

its a pioneer avh-p7480 and i'm picking it up this saturday, feb 13.  are there any ways i can do a quick check without actually installing this unit in my car? 

tips on the actual installation would be appreciated also

All I can think of is to put 12volts on it and see if it powers up, you could also try putting in a dvd/ cd to see if it does anything???, I will be installing one of these " do-dadds" into my Protege5 in a couple of months, but thats all I can say for now.

When you do your test make sure that you have the parking brake wire grounded or else the screen wont come on. Good luck. Brian
