The speakers I'm about to install in my doors have vented pole pieces. I'm planning to run an amp to them that solidly powers them at (or aboveposted_image) their RMS rating, so since they'll be pushed just as hard as they can be, I'd like to leave the vent holes in the back open, but is it a good idea in the harsh environment that is the inside of a door, or should I seal them up somehow to keep any water out of the coil?

I wouldn't seal them, but a good idea would be to get some XTC baffles, and cut them in half - sorta like a rain hat - to at least cover the magnet structure.

It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."
