vented pole pieces in doors

The speakers I'm about to install in my doors have vented pole pieces. I'm planning to run an amp to them that solidly powers them at (or above
) their RMS rating, so since they'll be pushed just as hard as they can be, I'd like to leave the vent holes in the back open, but is it a good idea in the harsh environment that is the inside of a door, or should I seal them up somehow to keep any water out of the coil?
