Anyone read the specs on this new "velvet hammer" ?

You should see some add's in several car audio mags next week or 2.  All you "SQ" guys, that REALLY want something to beat your head off...... it's on it's way! There's just somehting beautiful about a 10, and a 12 with a 5 inch voice coil, that's able to deal with THOUSANDS of watts, and will produce sexy sound...... OOOooo la,la.   I'm so excited......being a Morel dealer and all!

Hey! I'm an SQ guy...!

I'd be interested in spec'n 'em out! Small box, or typical "big-ol-box" of Morel yore?

Are they PROPER Morel, (of Israel) or the MorelUSA?

It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

Proper Morel.

Each woof will come with a design sheet for 3 different enclosures. Jim told me it will go from, like you said small, to typical.

carbon fiber cone, this thing just looks so beautiful. the 12 will retail for 799.00

I will be going with the (2)10". The car will be tuned for SQ. Morel Elates will be going in the kick panels. Now, I have think about amps to drive them. Any suggestions? Zapco, Arc, JL etc...

I'm SURE I'm going to start sounding like a broken record, here, but I highly, highly, HIGHLY recommend the Alpine PDX amps. I am being quite serious, here, too. Here's the second half of my review of the PDX4.150. Down toward the bottom of this page is the first part. Check it out.

I love hearing the good reviews on the product our new store will be selling. Alpine, Morel, Astrostart.... Cool.

Those PDX amps are about the slickest things ever. Mike Leclaire, our rep was talking about the big one. The 1.1000. The rated power is UNDERRATED big time.... The entire line is!

Birth Certificates:

4.150 #1, 163WPC RMS
4.150 #2, 176WPC RMS
1.1000, 1167 watts, RMS

Yeah, they're a BIT underrated, especially the big guy! Good lord willing, and the creek don't rise, I'll be installing everything this weekend!

I'm sure they will be a great sounding speaker.  But beyond a certain point  a larger diameter voice coil is only advantageous for an SPL designed driver.
