Can't answer that... Too many variables. What kind of woofer, how big, car - make and model, amplifier? Have you made ANY plans toward this at all?

With general woofers, you will compromise one or the other... You WON'T be able to do both extremely effectively, unless you spend some SERIOUS money, like on a W7 or something like that, with an amp to match... at least 750 watts.

It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

Sorry I'll be more specific.  The car is a 2003 Neon R/T.  The current setup is as follows:

  • Alpine CDA9813 Head Unit
  • Powerbass L6C 6.5" Components in front doors
  • Powerbass L693 6x9" in rear deck
  • MTX Thunder 404 4 channel amp for interior speakers

I just purchased 2 Powerbass L12D 12" DVC subwoofers and a Powerbass ASA1000.1D Amplifier.  The woofers are rated at 400W RMS/800W Peak.  The amp is rated at 1000W RMS @ 1ohm.  The voice coils will be wired in parallel giving me 1 ohm at the amplifier.  I will be upgrading within the month to a high output alt. from Alterstart, and a Kinetik power cell.  The car will be a daily driver, just looking for the best of both worlds I suppose.  I listen to mostly if not entirely rock music, no rap.  Thanks!!!
