Hi, newbie here.  I have a 96 Econoline conversion van with the premium cass. deck head and six speaker factory stereo.  I would like to change the head unit and have a Kenwood KDC-X491 new that I picked up for a song.

Can anybody help me with the wiring?  I have not had the van long and do believe there is an amp somewhere. The Kenwood has two RCA outs and a sub out or the standard 4 speaker harness.  I would like to keep the stock speakers and amp as I don't want to put any more money in the van right now.  Will it work?

Thanks in advance.

If there is a factory amp chances are it won't work.  When you hook up the new head unit and don't hear any sound than the amp is interfering with your signal.  You're just going to use the four speaker harness unless you add an amp of your own.
